Dr. Patrick Struck nominated for dissertation award

CROSSING member from Uni Regensburg among the three finalists of CAST/GI Promotionspreis IT-Sicherheit 2023

The CAST/GI Promotionspreis IT-Sicherheit 2023, which recognizes outstanding dissertations in the field of IT security, will be awarded on May 10th during the BSI German IT Security Congress. One of the finalists is Dr. Patrick Struck, who wrote his dissertation at TU Darmstadt.

Struck's doctoral thesis “Security of Cryptographic Primitives in Advanced Security Notions” from 2022 was supervised by CROSSING-PI Professor Dr. Juliane Krämer. Within CROSSING, Dr. Patrick Struck is involved in project P1 on Future Public-Key Encryption and Signature Schemes. After finishing his doctoral thesis at TU Darmstadt, he became a PostDoc at the chair for Data Security and Cryptography at University of Regensburg.

The CAST/GI Promotionspreis IT-Sicherheit (doctoral award IT security), jointly offered by CAST e.V. and the Security Division of Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V., recognizes outstanding dissertations in the field of IT security. The prize is awarded for work that represents a step forward in IT security and increases the level of security in IT applications. The three finalists will present their doctoral theses virtually on May 10th, 2023 during the 19th German IT Security Congress. The jury will announce placements shortly after the presentations.
