Celebrating Women in Tech

Looking back at High-Tech Women 2023

The third High-Tech Women conference and networking event took place on 30th March at the Welcome Hotel Darmstadt. This year's event was again a great success, attracting over 60 participants from diverse backgrounds.

The conference co-organized by the System Security Lab of Prof. Sadeghi featured talks by internationally renowned female speakers joining us from the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United States, Italy, Spain and Germany. The topics covered were wide-ranging and thought-provoking. From brain-inspired computing, privacy-preserving AI and cybersecurity to personal stories of what lead them to pursue their careers in tech, our speakers kept the audience engaged and inspired throughout the day.

Speaker and AI researcher Dr. Mozhgan Tavakolifard summed up the experience: “Last time I was in a room full of women in technology was five years ago in Madrid. That is how often this happens in my life… beautiful event with a beautiful and colorful group of entrepreneurs, professors, researchers, industry experts and innovation leaders.” Speaker Dr. Mina Namazi, a researcher in applied cryptography, was amazed listening to the inspiring stories of women who are successful “despite the rollercoasters they experienced”. At High Tech Women 2023, we saw first hand the impact that sharing experiences and inspiring one another can have. We look forward to support this tradition in the years to come and hope to see even more women in tech at next year's conference.
