Trust: Collaborative Self-Learning for Security, Fun and Profit

Talk at the Big-Data.AI Summit by Bitkom

2022/09/15

Organizer: Bitkom e. V.

Abstract

Big data and artificial intelligence are game changers when it comes to gathering insights and automating tasks. Integrating these technological advantages into organisations and the whole value chain poses big challenges to companies wanting to future-proof their business models. Concrete steps towards this goal come with a multitude of questions regarding necessary data foundations, successful scaling of intelligent applications, and legal and social circumstances. The Big-Data.AI Summit by Bitkom, Europe's leading conference on the application of artificial intelligence and big data in business, will shed light on these topics with a focus on “Generating Value: The Path from Innovation to Production” on the 14th and 15th September 2022 live in Berlin.

CROSSING-PI professor Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi will give a talk on “Trust: Collaborative Self-Learning for Security, Fun and Profit” on September 15th from 12:00 am. In his talk, he will present his team's research and experience, also with industrial partners, in using collaborative machine learning to enhance security of large scale computing systems and applications. He will exemplify their work on two use-cases where they utilize federated learning: The first one concerns building an autonomous self-learning distributed system for detecting large-scale IoT malware and compromised IoT devices. The second one focuses on risk analysis modelling for mobile applications. The talk will conclude with some research challenges and directions.
