On April 6, 2022, the CAST/GI Promotionspreis IT-Sicherheit was awarded in Karlsruhe. With the first prize, the jury recognized the dissertation by Dr. Kristina Hostáková as an outstanding contribution to improving the scalability of cryptocurrencies based on so-called payment channels. The thesis from 2020 was supervised by CROSSING-PI professor Sebastian Faust. Within CROSSING, Hostáková was involved in project S7 on “Foundations of Generalized State Channel Networks” and engaged as a mentor in the Secure and Scalable Blockchain Technology. Since December 2020, Dr. Hostáková is a postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zurich. female student mentoring and networking program
