IT systems are crucial to the development of society and the economy. Therefore, it is mandatory that IT systems are trustworthy. Unfortunately, today's cryptography is inadequate to achieve this. Major advances in cryptography are necessary to enable trust in today's and future computing environments. The goal of the Collaborative Research Center CROSSING is a coherent framework of cryptography-based security solutions that addresses the complex IT security challenges of the future, both efficient and flexibly. The solutions will be easy to use for developers, administrators, and end users of IT, even if they are not cryptography experts.
CROSSING is a joint effort of more than 65 scientists from Quantum Physics, Cryptography, System Security and Software Engineering.
