Are you a female student in computer science, electrical engineering or IT? Apply by 7 June 2022 for the Female Student (Travel) Award 2022 to win one of seven stipends to attend an (online) conference of your choice.

With this award, the collaborative research centers CROSSING and MAKI, the research training group Privacy & Trust, and the LOEWE center emergenCITY recognize exceptionally well performances of female students in computer science, electrical engineering, and information technology. The seven winners will be awarded a stipend of 500 euros and we want to encourage them to use the money to attend one of the following conferences, which are focused on connecting female researchers in computer science and engineering, to take advantage of the excellent networking opportunities during these events.

The conferences

  • The Informatica Feminale and the Ingenieurinnen-Sommeruni (25/07 – 05/08 online, and 01/09 – 14/09 in Bremen) are international summer universities in informatics, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.
  • The ditact Summer Studies (22/8 – 3/9 in Salzburg, Austria, and online) are summer studies for women in IT.
  • The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (20/09 – 23/09 in Orlando, USA, and online) is the world’s largest gathering of women technologists.
  • The Ada Lovelace Festival (in December, exact date and location to be determined) is an event that brings together women from computer science and tech and celebrates diversity.
